DMCA & COPYRIGHT POLICY – AnswerNotes

This Copyright and DMCA Policy (“Policy”) outlines the rights, responsibilities, and procedures relating to the protection of intellectual property on AnswerNotes (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Site”). AnswerNotes respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. This Policy is issued in accordance with the Copyright Act, 1957 (India), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and international copyright principles, including relevant provisions modeled on the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

 

1. COPYRIGHT OWNERSHIP

Unless otherwise stated, all content published on AnswerNotes—including but not limited to notes, summaries, explanations, compilations, text, graphics, layouts, study materials, digital files, and organizational structure—is the exclusive intellectual property of AnswerNotes and is protected under:

  • The Copyright Act, 1957 (India)

  • Applicable international copyright treaties

  • Database and compilation rights

Even where artificial intelligence tools assist in content creation, the selection, editing, arrangement, formatting, refinement, compilation, and presentation of the final materials constitute an original copyrighted work owned solely by AnswerNotes.

No part of the Site may be:

  • reproduced

  • copied

  • distributed

  • uploaded

  • transmitted

  • republished

  • shared

  • publicly displayed

  • stored in a retrieval system

without our prior written permission.

Unauthorized reproduction or redistribution of AnswerNotes’ premium or free content is strictly prohibited.

 

2. USER RESPONSIBILITIES

By accessing the Site, users agree not to:

  • copy, record, photograph, screenshot, screen-capture, download, or share any content

  • redistribute notes via WhatsApp, Telegram, Google Drive, or any other platform

  • reproduce or adapt content for commercial or educational redistribution

  • upload www.answernotes.com content to any public or private platform

Violation of these terms may result in account suspension, legal action, and permanent loss of access without refund.

 

3. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT NOTICE (DMCA NOTICE)

If you believe that any content on AnswerNotes infringes your copyright, you may submit a written Copyright Infringement Notice (“Takedown Notice”).

Your Notice must include:

  1. Your full name, postal address, and email address.

  2. A clear description of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.

  3. The exact URL or location of the allegedly infringing material on AnswerNotes.

  4. A statement affirming that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

  5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your Notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized representative.

  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete or vague claims may not be processed.

 

4. TAKEDOWN PROCESS

Upon receiving a valid Copyright Infringement Notice:

  1. We will acknowledge receipt of the Notice via email.

  2. We will review and verify the complaint.

  3. If the claim is valid, we will:

    • remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content

  4. In cases of repeated infringement, we may:

    • suspend the user's account

    • permanently terminate access

    • take additional legal steps as necessary

AnswerNotes is not liable for damages resulting from content removal made in good-faith compliance with this Policy.

 

5. COUNTER-NOTICE PROCEDURE

At present, AnswerNotes does not allow users to upload or publish their own content on our website. The Counter-Notice process applies only if content posting features are enabled in the future.

 

6. REPEAT INFRINGEMENT POLICY

AnswerNotes maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for repeated copyright infringement.

Users who repeatedly violate copyright laws may face:

  • account termination

  • permanent blocking of access

  • legal action under Indian Copyright Act, 1957

 

7. NO WARRANTY OF USER CONTENT

AnswerNotes does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or authenticity of any third-party content or external links posted on or referenced by the Site.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AnswerNotes shall not be liable for:

  • loss of content

  • damages resulting from takedown actions

  • errors in removal or restoration

  • actions taken in good-faith compliance with notices submitted under this Policy
